Jon Cullen has served on the Board of Directors for over 3 years, as President for over 1 year.  Jon graduated from Alma College with a B.S. in chemistry and worked as an analytical scientist at the pharmaceutical company Pharmacia (now Pfizer) in Kalamazoo, Michigan for over seven years.  Jon began to sense God's direction toward full-time vocational ministry, specifically in the area of church-planting, and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be part of a young church plant, Southbridge Fellowship. Southbridge Fellowship is the home church of Matt and Misty Hedspeth and has been involved from the moment of sending Matt and Misty out to begin Heart's Cry till today, sending teams and otherwise supporting Matt and Misty and their ministry.  Jon has a unique perspective on orphan care as he has been estranged from his mom for over twenty years.  This has given him a passion to care for children without parents, specifically in Panamá, through the work of Heart's Cry.

Vice President

Todd Ussery recently joined our Board of Directors in late 2016, although he has been close to the ministry since its inception.  Todd is a native of Raleigh, NC and graduated from North Carolina State University.  Todd is a co-founder of Sabal Homes LLC based out of Mount Pleasant, SC.  Todd and his wife Catherine have two children, Parker and Wilson, who equally share the passion and conviction for caring for orphaned children in Panamá, as well as within their own community.  Todd and Catherine have previously been licensed as foster care providers and adopted Wilson through what was initially a foster care placement.  Todd has made several visits to Panamá where he has seen the overwhelming and heart-breaking need for the body of Christ and Heart’s Cry Children’s Ministry to defend and care for orphaned children in Panamá.
