Nope, haven't fallen off the face of the earth :) We have been in Raleigh, NC for the past month. Our visa finally came thru for Peter and we took off right away. Meanwhile, Ari is hard at work for HCCM back in Panama...
We have had a wonderful time to visit with tons of family members and a few friends, which has been great. Everyone has enjoyed meeting Peter. He is quite the bundle of joy and brings a smile to those he encounters. It is remarkable how his English has progressed. He is completely fluent now, but unfortunately forgetting Spanish -- so we need to get him back in Spanish mode soon! We plan to return to Panama next week.
While here, in addition to all the introductions for Peter, we have had a bunch of doctor appointments and check ups. The quality of care in our area is unbelievable. We were able to get Peter in to see some top specialists at Duke Children's Hospital, and we were blown away. I had no idea how great the care is, right in our back door! Their level of knowledge and expertise is absolutely remarkable. We are truly thankful to have these caring doctors and health care providers for Peter, and ourselves too. I feel like we have all had about every square inch of our bodies checked out while back home! Now, we are good to go for another round of time in Panama :) After how spoiled we are with the doctors in the RDU area, though, I am kinda hoping that nobody needs to see a doctor in Panama! Yikes!! Everybody just hold on till our next visit back home ;) If only sicknesss were planned... But, the thing is, our situation will do nothing but build more trust in the Lord.
I am so thankful to hear this. I have had Peter on my heart. I am glad you were able to make it into the states.
