My dad forwarded me an interesting article from the Wall Street Journal about Assembling the Global Baby and how to "assemble" one. It is a must-read, even mentions Panama! Just click on the title and it will link you to the article. But read it with a warning, it is one that most likely will not sit well with you. I had NO idea the lengths people are going to today in order to get a baby. This is sad on multiple layers, the glaring one is that this "assembling" is especially bad considering the thousands of children needing homes right this minute all over the world... the sick and lonely, the forgotten ones. Adoption has become so difficult, with all the red tape and bureacracy and "restrictive laws", that people are going to such great lengths as mentioned in this article. That's right... in Panama, Mother's Day was celebrated this Wednesday, December 8th. It's a national holiday and the whole country shut down to honor mother's. It's a big deal here! And, I was able to celebrate my first Mother's Day as a mom. Praise the Lord!! Cannot begin to tell you what a tough road I have gone down with Mother's Day. Yet this week has been about mom's and thankfully I am one...
